Mudavadi pleads the world to help Haiti

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has said it is important to nurture national, regional and international peace and ultimately human security.
 
Speaking when he attended the Haiti Concert and Cultural Festival at Uhuru Gardens,  he said that anarchy breeds anarchy, lack of peace, lack of food, it brings lack of medical care, lack of education, anarchy was dehumanizing human beings.
 
"I thanked H.E President William Ruto for hearing the cries of Haitians,  and standing with our brothers in their moment of need," said Mudavadi.
 
He noted that it is important that the world worked together, and appealed to other Nations to come forward and join Kenya in contributing their troops, or provide logistical support so that the, women and young people of Haiti can know peace and prosperity.


He said he would like to hear Haiti people sing like Kenyans that  'Hakuna Matata Haiti'.
The Kenyan police he noted, were chosen to be the lead in Haiti because of their discipline,  and a track record in peace missions across the world.
 
He also appreciated the Acting Inspector General of Police, National Police Service Gilbert Masengeli , Deputy Security advisor Joseph Boinet, and the youth peace ambassadors for Peace in Haiti for the courage for daring to push for peace in Haiti.


He thanked the organisers for  pioneering an event aimed at fostering solidarity between Africa and Haiti through cultural celebration, Economic Support and International advocacy.
 
 Haiti he said enjoyed cordial relations cemented by the signing of an agreement to establish Diplomatic relations between Kenya and Haiti on 21st September, 2023.
Mudavadi said Haiti has a long history of political instability since its independence on 1st January, 1804.
 
"Currently, the Haiti situation is complex and the suffering of the Haitian people has attracted collective consciousness.," he noted.


He added;  "The MSS Mission in Haiti has garnered worldwide support which is a testament of the continued shift towards the world as a global village and the importance given to worldwide peace and security."
The event he said aimed to strengthen bonds of solidarity between African and Haitian Communities through the sharing of music and culture which are a powerful medium for bridging gaps and building connections across diverse communities.
 
" I take this opportunity to welcome visiting artists from diverse backgrounds including Haiti, Kenya, Romania, the United States, Zimbabwe, Liberia and Congo among others," said Mudavadi.
 
The Mudavadi said he wished that the event  would creates local awareness and bridges gaps concerning the importance of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, Deployment of Kenyan Police and Haiti’s significant role in Africa’s history, liberation and culture.


He was accompanied by Dr Korir Singoei, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs,  Mr. Joseph N. Busiega, MBS, ndc(K), Chief of Staff at the Prime Cabinet Secretary office and ambassadors from Eritrea,  Argentina, Romania,  Barbados and Peru.


Others were Deputy Ambassador/Charges' for Philipines, Mexico, Zambia, and Iran and Counsellors from USA and Argentina.
